Snorks

We will be discussing subjects close to children themselves as well as their immediate environment, for example home, family, nature and human body. Also we will be learning about colours, greetings, numbers from 1 up to 30, weekdays, months, times of the year, right and left, down and up etc.

Furthermore, we will be looking into Finnish children's culture through traditions such as Father's Day, Aleksis Kivi's Day, Runeberg's Day, Kalevala, Finnish Christmas, Independence Day and Midsummer.
The aim is to encourage children to speak Finnish and engage actively when working in a group. We try to build up and broaden vocabulary within different themes. During the year the children will learn how letters sound in Finnish and will start building simple words using syllables. This way we try and prepare the children to learn to read in Finnish.
